Saturday was Ben's 34th birthday and we started the morning with strawberry pancakes and presents. His brother sent him a paddle skate board . Ben's best friend from college is head of the company in Virginia Beach. Maybe if it ever gets warm in Chicago, he'll be able to use it!
I took the boys to a free workshop at Home Depot that morning. Home Depot offers free workshops every first Saturday of the month on the Northshore. Check your local store to see if they offer it where you are.
I made Ben's favorite chocolate chip cookies for his birthday. I used The New York Time's best selling chocolate chip cookie recipe.
On Saturday night, Ben and I went on a little getaway to downtown Chicago. We stayed at The Langham hotel and it was amazing! I would highly recommend it if you visit Chicago and need a place to stay. We went to a nearby restaurant to watch the UNC/Syracuse game. Ben went to Carolina for business school so he's somewhat of a Tarheels fan. They won!
Sunday was back to reality. I made enchiladas for dinner, which are yummy, easy and make enough for leftovers. No pictures but I'll post the recipe soon.
